Vilken vecka!
Målet nått

Med ett stormande bifall hyllade festivalpubliken i Helsingborg framförandet av Carl Orffs Carmina Burana. Det kändes gott att den 2000-hövdade skaran nästan inte ville sluta applådera.

 

Vi kunde dock inte stanna alltför länge och njuta av framgången, vi skulle hem till Fridhem och ha fest.

 

Carmina Burana var inte det enda vi sjöng den kvällen. Tre timmar tidigare gav vi en konsert i Maria-kyrkan, som bl.a. innehöll flera kompositörers tolkning av "Ave verum corpus". Även den konserten mottogs välvilligt av publiken, som var ungefär lika många som sångarna. (c:a 90 st)
 
Hur nådde vi dit

Som vanligt var det körövningar morgon och kväll, soaréer, nattkaféer och annan samvaro.

Richards förmåga att forma en samsjungen kör av 90 sångare av olika standard på kort tid och den sociala samvaron torde vara nyckeln till resultatet.
Genom att barnen och ungdomarna hade egna program kunde de sjungande föräldrarna ägna sina krafter åt körsången. Barnens aktiviteter var teater, lekar och sång, vilka sedan framfördes på soaréerna.
 
Soaréerna

 

Inte bara barnen och ungdomarna framträdde på soaréerna även om de gärna gjorde det. Klas, var som vanligt konferencier, en syssla som han med rimsmedens elegans skötte med bravur.

· Den illustrerade låten ”15 minuter från Eslöv”

That Was the Week That Was
The Objectives Reached

With a big cheer and applause the audience acknowledged our performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. It felt very nice that the 2000 members of the public hardly wanted to stop clapping their hands.

 
We could, however, not stay too long and enjoy our success. We had to go home to Fridhem to party.

Carmina Burana was not the only thing we sang that night. Three hours earlier we gave a concert in the Maria church, with several composers interpretation of "Ave verum corpus" among other items. Even that concert was well received by the audience (about the same number as the 90 singers)

 
 
How it all was achieved

As ususal there were choir practices mornings and evenings, evening entertainments, night cafés and other kinds of togetherness.

Richards ability to create a koherent singing choir out of 90 singers of different standards and the social mingling might be the key to the result.

Due to the fact that the children and the adolecents had their own programs the singing parents were able to concentrate on the choir singing. The children were doing sketches, playing games and singing. Activities that later were performed in the soirées.

It was not only the children and the youth that performed in the evening entertainments (even if they did it more than willingly). Klas, as usual, was the MC a task he takes care of with the greatest authority of a rhymer.
